The Centre for Information Technology (CIT) is the central IT department of the University of Groningen (RUG), and is responsible for the entire infrastructure. The CIT has observed the trend of increasing data volumes, and at the same time the speed at which data has to be secured is increasing. Sufficient reason for the CIT to look for a reliable and scalable solution.
BPSOLUTIONS was one of the companies called in for assistance, which has resulted in the fast roll out of a new data back-up platform. This platform can process four times as much data then before, with the same management effort.
